Stuck-up atheists (and their poor families)
It was quite a juicy topic last month, so we will revisit it. Do atheists think they are superior? If so, why? Do we have room for improvement? Do we want to improve? Are we really more honest, trustworthy, smarter, better educated, more knowledgeable of religion than most believers? Many of us might say yes to all--but how do we know? Are we fooling ourselves?
For that matter, what of family conflicts? Suppose mom is a believer and dad a non-, how can they work out raising the kids? Can an atheist parent introduce the kid(s) to freedom from religion without destroying the marriage??
Deep, subtle questions. Come to the February Philosopher's Table to take another good look at the image in the mirror.
