AOF Activities & Events
Would you like some real friends? Folk you can hang around, talk to, be solid with? Folk who won't mock you for ending a sentence with a preposition?
AOF proposes an afternoon not of "speed dating," but something like: an innocent, respectful way of finding new friends.
California is tough. People are often afraid to get acquainted with neighbors, or may be just too shy to speak. Here's your chance to shatter that wall.
The moderator will provide a sheet of questions, match you to a partner, and set a timer for five minutes or so of free-form chat. Hear their story, tell yours. Then everyone will change conversation partners and do it again. It's a format much like speed dating but without the baggage of romance.
Give this a try. WCGW?
And if you'd like even more opportunity to become acquainted with others, please offer to be the greeter at the monthly meeting. AOF will provide: adhesive name tags and a marker. You provide: a smile and friendly demeanor. As people come through the door, you will have a legitimate excuse to say, "What's your name?" Before you know it, you have tons of new friends! Contact AOF if interested.
