Shakes in ShadesGet your bard on with AOF's new Shakespeare Discussion Group, dedicated to celebrate and appreciate the Bard of Avon. Guiding us will be former high school drama teacher Sean O'Brien. (You'll remember him as the elegant gentleman who impersonates Robert Ingersoll and Edgar Allan Poe.)

At this meeting we'll decide on a play (maybe part of a play, a sonnet, a scribble?) to read for next month's meeting. Sean will invite attendees to recite, perform scenes with others, or extemporize monologues. Depending on the play, Sean will also introduce various activities to enhance the experience. Naturally, we'll explore how religious skeptics have viewed the Bard over the centuries. Item of interest: At least one scholar, William Birch of Oxford, thought Shakespeare was an atheist, based on sentiments expressed in the works.

If you have a special Shakespeare-related story, be sure to share it, because this is all about learning, growth, and fun!

Optional: bring finger foods or drink to share, a dollar to help pay for the room. Finger foods especially appropriate if we decide to read "Titus Andronicus". You'll see why.
